Updated instructions for the March task!

Hello Voices of the World!

The task for March is to read in the names of all participating countries (and states for the partners in USA) - illustrate as you want, but nice if you tries to "catch the spirit" of the spesific country (e.g. for Greece; sunny, beaches, typical tourist target - at least for us up in the north - let the children draw something the associate with the different countries/states).

Put your illustrations into PowerPoint (both versions 2003/2007 are ok to use, if you use Impress from OpenOffice, remember to save as a Microsoft version 97-2003 .ppt). Do not use the .pptx-format (even though it says it is ok on the website).

On the first slide; your school name and location (as usual) e.g. Tyssedal barneskole, Odda, Hordaland, Norge - use your own language on all the slides (Lisa Stevens; do as we agreed).

Slide 2 – country/state - se list below, to choose a country/state
Slide 3 - next country/state (from list below)
Slide 4 - continue till you've made a slide for everybody (se list below - we have 18 who will take part this month)

This means you'll have 19 slides all together.

This month we’ll use a new publishing tool - Slidesix

Sign up for an account and log in. Tap on Management console – Upload A Presentation – Browse (and navigate to your file and doubleclick) – Upload (and wait till your file disappears from the window) – Close the small upload window, and your presentation will appear within few seconds int your main window.

To record your voices:

Dobuleclick you presentation, and then click on your first slide to record the voice. Click on Narrate, and Allow your microphone to access. Click on the record button and start talking – rembember to say it twice before you click on the stop button. If you recording is alright, close the recording window and head for your next slide. Once you’re finished with all the recordings, click on the button Presos – then you’ll see all your presentations (if you’ve got more than just this one).

To get the embed code:

When you have tapped the Presos button, you can mangage your presentation in your window at the right. Fill in a few tags; votw, etwinning, February, 2009 – and click on the Save button below. Now you’re going to get the embed code. Click on the View button, then your slide opens in a new window, where you fetch the embed code (triple-click and copy it) – SEND THIS CODE TO KAIRI.

just be back from our easter holidays...-)) and we looking forward to May 5th.. cause are national etwinning winners with another project we runned last year.. So that day.. Please don't think about doing it in Slidesix - as I said earlier in a brodcasted message; if you've got any troubles with SlideSix, use Slideboom instead;-))

We ended up doing it in the presentation because I couldn't get it to work on SlideSix for some reason - probably set up on our end. I'll just use SlideBoom to upload since I see at least one other person did. I'm going to play with SlideSix when I have time but that's not this week and I want to get this uploaded and sent.

Did you recorded the sound directly into your presentation? Then it will not work. The sound has to be recorded from Slidesix (using the function Narrate). Under Management console you'll se your presentations, click on the right one, and then click on a slide to be able to find the Narrate-button
