January Task

How do I get the January Task? I am new to this.

I was thinking about doing something related to friendship. One song that keeps going through my head is "Make New Friends" - there's a cute flash site with this at: http://www.gfes.tpc.edu.tw/board/abc-song/MakeNewFriends.swf There are a lot more lyrics than that in the whole song but even just the first verse might make a good project. I'd love to do this by making a video with a video camera - those who can show their students could video tape them and those that couldn't could video tape the students holding signs up with the lyrics or artwork they created to illustrate the song. Then the video could be uploaded to Teacher Tube or Vimeo or YouTube or even as Quicktime videos directly to the wiki.

Anyway that's just a suggestion if you're looking for them.; ▶ Reply to This

Perhaps students, like mine, could make masks to video. We are not allowed to include student images on the web, Also, YouTube is blocked in many districts so Teaher tube would probably be better.

I love the friendship theme idea. I can show students faces - only a few parents opted out.

In checking the Ning forum, I see that a January task has emerged, though. I don't know if we'll be able to participate this month. We are having standardized testing now (computer generated), then we have report cards due, plus the class I work with is going on an outdoor education trip (Skiing in Faraya). I don't know what I might be able to get done this month.

On monday and tuesday we unwrapped 25 shiny white macbooks with our seven-year-olds. We have a big journey in front of us. With new technical problems I can´t get the projector to work with the smartboard and the mac so we havn´t even watched your contributions to December´s task.
I like the friendship theme but I think we should use our own songs. It is not so easy to learn a new song and I am not very good at the piano. Could we use a friendshipsong of our own language??? I´d love to film!!!!; ▶ Reply to This

Can we postpone January's Task about a week or something? Task was released on the 23rd, we won't be able to do this with one week. In the future the task should be released earlier, at least for me and my students :)

Vicky, can we choose a song - something in our language, because this song is not familiar here? It would be much easier if we choose the tune/song we all know.
